Prosecco, the king of Italian bubbles, has just celebrated a 50-year long history of success, whose trump card has always been the strong link with the landscape, haute cuisine and great chefs, the territory and the art world. Thus the Denomination Conegliano Valdobbiadene celebrated half century of wine history with the "Conegliano Valdobbiadene Festival", a program of activities that brought together, from 7 to 29 May, a long series of exhibitions, events, initiatives and great personalities to celebrate not only Prosecco, but the territory and all that has contributed to making it what it is today: an authentic symbol of Italian excellence in the world.

The connection with haute cuisine is inevitable and now confirmed as the inseparable "companion" of great wines. Among the protagonists of the "Cucina d'Autore" evenings, are four star chefs: Carlo Cracco, Moreno Cedroni, Cristina Bowerman and Simone Padoan have proposed their dishes to the enthusiasts, each in a local restaurant, trying to best enhance the wine making tradition of Prosecco Superiore. Finally, the proposal of Italian haute cuisine paired with Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore has also been enriched by its street food version with Niko Romito.

As we know, wine is also an expression of the beauty of a territory and its culture, and art is certainly the best to describe it. The Consortium has entrusted this delicate task to two great art scholars, critic Philippe Daverio and poet and writer Gian Mario Villalta, who have given life to an interesting dialogue on the topic of local landscape in figurative art and literature over the centuries.

And that’s not all: the celebrations for the fifty years of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Denomination wanted to encompass all the threads that Prosecco has woven into its long path of excellence, so the historical centre of Valdobbiadene has hosted a photographic exhibition, "Radici nel futuro" (Roots in the Future), a narration of the history and culture of Prosecco Superiore through a stream of images.
